Argofet 200-3 FET separator / Isolator of 3 batteries

FET isolators allow simultaneous charging of two or more batteries from a single alternator (or from a single output of a battery charger) without connecting the batteries to each other. The batteries are charged together, but each is discharged separately, so the discharge of one circuit does not endanger the other.

Compared to diode battery separators, FET separators show virtually no voltage drop. The voltage drop is lower than 0.02V at low currents and increases up to 0.1V at higher currents.

Therefore, when using FET isolators, there is no need to increase the charging voltage of the alternator.

The contactless connection of batteries with the Agrofet connector is also extremely safe, there is no sparking on the switching contacts (it does not contain switching contacts, the connection is made by power FET transistors). A typical use of a FET jumper is on boats, caravans, motorhomes and wherever there are multiple batteries and each powering a different circuit of appliances.

Some alternators need power on the B+ output to start charging the connected battery (alternator needs to energize). Of course, the voltage will appear only after the battery is directly connected to the alternator. However, inserting a FET isolator in front of the battery(s) prevents reverse voltage and current from the battery from passing through to the alternator, and therefore does not start charging.

For this reason, ARGOFET isolators are equipped with a special current-limited input (marked on the product as ENERGIZE) that supplies B+ when the motor switch is closed. This will energize the alternator when the engine is started.
